Southwest Guitar Symposium

UT San Antotnio School of Music would like to welcome you to the third annual Southwest Guitar Symposium. The 2026 edition of the Symposium will take place March 13 – 15 in the beautiful city of San Antonio, hosted by the University of Texas San Antonio School of Music. We are thrilled to bring a variety of programming and performances by distinguished concert artists from around the world! This year we have the distinct pleasure to present acclaimed guitarists John David Quijano (Colombia), An Tran (Vietnam), Rene Izquierdo (Cuba), Isaac Bustos (Nicaragua), Jay Kacherski and Jonathan Dotson (USA)! In addition, we are also presenting the winners of the 2025 SWGS Competitions, Camden Wells and Alberto Daniel Quintanilla, along with guest performances by the UTSA Guitar Ensemble, UTSA Grad Guitar Duo, and Duo Latino Americano(Peru/Colombia). Additionally, the SWGS hosts solo competitions for High-School and Collegiate Undergraduate Categories.
